AIN002 self-adhesive capsule towel ring in chrome, a no-drill bathroom fitting by Jabon Bagno

New: AIN002 Capsule Towel Ring, Self-Adhesive in Chrome or Black

AIN002 is a self-adhesive towel ring with a capsule-shaped hoop instead of the usual circle, and it is listed in chrome at ₹499 and black at ₹699. It fixes without drilling, so it suits a tiled or glass wall in a rented flat, or a finished bathroom nobody wants to put a hole in. The one thing that sets it apart from every other ring we sell is the shape: a rounded rectangle gives a towel a long straight edge to sit over, rather than a narrow curve that gathers the cloth at one point.

What is actually new here

Less than you might expect, and it is worth being straight about that. This is the second self-adhesive towel ring in the catalogue, not the first. AIN001 has been in the range for some time at ₹449 in chrome and ₹499 in black, in stainless steel 304 with a matt finish, and it fixes to the wall the same way.

What AIN002 changes is the hoop itself. AIN001 is a round ring; AIN002 is a capsule, and the difference shows when a towel is hanging on it. On a circular ring the towel drapes over an arc, so the weight concentrates at the top of the curve and the cloth bunches there. On a straight-sided hoop the same towel sits along a flat run, which keeps it spread and helps it dry.

It is also not the cheaper option: ₹50 more than AIN001 in chrome, ₹200 more in black. If price decides it, buy AIN001. Buy AIN002 if the shape matters to you, either for how the towel hangs or because a rectangular fitting suits the rest of the bathroom better than a circle.

Features and specifications

Everything below comes from the product listing itself. Where a figure is not published, we have said so rather than filled the gap.

  • Capsule hoop that spreads a towel along a straight edge instead of bunching it on a curve.
  • Self-adhesive fixing — no drill, no wall plugs, no tools and no holes to make good afterwards.
  • Rounded, smooth edges, which matters on a fitting mounted at hand height beside a basin.
  • Rust and corrosion resistant construction for everyday bathroom use.
  • Two finishes listed, chrome and black, ordered as separate SKUs.

What the listing does not state
No material grade, dimensions or load figure is published for AIN002. If you specifically need a stated stainless steel 304 fitting — for a wall that takes direct shower spray every day, say — AIN001 names its grade and this one does not. That is a real difference between the two, and not one to guess about.

Where it sits in the towel ring range

We stock fourteen towel rings, and AIN002 lands in the middle on price. The screw-fixed stainless steel 304 rings start below it, the brass ones run well above. What you pay for with AIN002 is not the metal — it is not having to drill.

Ring Fixing Price
NYKS NYB1002, stainless steel 304, chrome Screw-fixed ₹375
ALEXA ALB1002, stainless steel 304, chrome Screw-fixed ₹400
DIANA DIB1002, stainless steel 304, black PU Screw-fixed ₹429
AIN001, stainless steel 304, matt Adhesive ₹449 chrome, ₹499 black
1120 Series, stainless steel 304, black and rose gold Screw-fixed ₹455
AIN002, capsule Adhesive ₹499 chrome, ₹699 black
ELIKA ELB1002, brass, chrome Screw-fixed ₹790
FORTIZ FOB1002, brass, chrome Screw-fixed ₹825
EDGE EDB1002, brass, chrome Screw-fixed ₹940
LEXY LEB1002, brass, chrome Screw-fixed ₹975
DUNA DUB1002, brass, chrome Screw-fixed ₹1,990

Read that table the other way round and the case for drilling is clear enough: NYKS at ₹375 is a stainless steel 304 ring for ₹124 less than the chrome AIN002. The adhesive fittings earn their price only where drilling is not an option.

AIN002 also joins the self-adhesive range, which now runs to five fittings: the two towel rings, a straight shelf and a corner shelf at ₹299 each, and the SST01005 health faucet stand at ₹175.

Fitting it

This is a job for the householder, not a tradesman. No plumbing, no wiring, nothing cut into the wall — a few minutes of work, plus a wait.

Before it arrives, decide the wall. Adhesive fittings hold on smooth, sealed, non-porous surfaces — glazed tile, glass, mirror, sealed stone. They do not hold on distempered or painted plaster, textured tile or unsealed stone, and no amount of pressing will change that. Check the spot is out of the direct line of the shower, and have rubbing alcohol and a clean dry cloth ready.

  1. Hold the ring against the wall at the height you want and mark the position lightly, in pencil. Hand-towel height beside a basin is usually a little below shoulder height for the shortest person using it.
  2. Clean the marked area with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. Skip this and the bond is working against soap film, not tile.
  3. Peel the backing and place the fitting against the wall in one go. Adhesive pads do not forgive being lifted and repositioned.
  4. Press firmly and hold for about thirty seconds, with the pressure straight into the wall rather than sideways.
  5. Leave it alone. Do not hang anything on it while the bond is still coming up to strength, and give it a full day at least before the first wet towel.

What to leave accessible: nothing on a towel ring needs servicing, but leave room to get a thin blade or a length of floss behind the mounting plate. That is how it comes off later without taking the tile glaze with it — reason enough to keep it a few centimetres clear of a corner or a frame.

The wait is the whole job
Almost every failed adhesive fitting failed because somebody hung a soaking towel on it the same evening. The bond needs time before it is asked to carry anything. Our guide on fitting bathroom accessories without drilling covers surfaces, curing and removal in more detail.

Who should not buy this

  • Anyone with painted, distempered or textured walls. The adhesive has nothing to grip. Buy a screw-fixed ring — NYKS is cheaper and will still be there in ten years.
  • Anyone who is happy to drill. If holes are not a problem, you are paying extra for a convenience you do not need, and the screw-fixed range gives you brass options that adhesive fittings cannot match.
  • Anyone hanging bath sheets or several wet towels at once. No load figure is published for AIN002, so treat it as a hand-towel fitting and put the heavy laundry on a towel rack.
  • Anyone fitting it inside a shower enclosure. For a wall that takes direct spray daily, the stated stainless steel 304 of AIN001 is the safer choice, because AIN002's listing does not name its material.
  • Anyone who wants a round ring. The capsule is the entire difference between these two products. If you do not want it, you do not want this fitting.

Before you order

  1. Check the wall is glazed tile, glass, mirror or sealed stone, and not paint, plaster or textured tile.
  2. Check the position is out of the direct shower spray.
  3. Decide the finish and order the right SKU: AIN002 for chrome at ₹499, AIN002B for black at ₹699.
  4. Compare against AIN001 if you want the round shape, the stated steel grade, or the lower price.
  5. Have rubbing alcohol and a clean dry cloth ready for the day it arrives.
  6. Plan to leave it unloaded for a day after fitting.

The AIN002 capsule towel ring is listed in both finishes, alongside the rest of the towel ring collection and the wider self-adhesive accessories range. If your walls will take an adhesive fitting and you would rather not drill a finished bathroom, it is a straightforward thing to buy. If they will not, no fitting of this kind is worth ₹499, and we would rather say so here than have it arrive and fall off.
