Collection: Laundry Sinks

A laundry sink is a deep utility basin on a storage cabinet, made for the work a kitchen sink is the wrong shape for: soaking clothes, scrubbing stains, washing buckets, mops and bulky items. This range is built around a PVC cabinet rather than a wooden or particle board one, which is the important part. A board cabinet in a damp laundry area swells, warps and eventually delaminates; PVC is fully water-resistant and rust-proof and does not. The sinks come in four overall widths, 1000, 1200, 1400 and 1600 mm, each 630 mm deep, each with the bowl on the left or the right, and each available as basin only, basin with faucet, or the complete set. Prices run from around Rs 20,200 to Rs 25,250.

How to choose a laundry sink

  • Measure the run, then pick the width. 100 cm suits a small balcony utility area or a garage corner, 120 cm a standard laundry alcove, and 140 or 160 cm a dedicated utility room where you want worktop beside the bowl.
  • Decide which side the bowl goes. Put the bowl at the end nearest the drain and the supply, leaving flat worktop on the side where you stack and fold. Getting this the wrong way round is the common regret.
  • Check the depth of the space. All four widths are 630 mm deep. Measure that against the door swing and the washing machine beside it.
  • Pick your configuration. Basin only suits a site that already has a tap. Basin with faucet or the complete set saves sourcing a separate utility tap.

Where a laundry sink earns its place

In most Indian homes the laundry area is a balcony, a utility corner off the kitchen or a service passage, and it is the wettest part of the house. Splashes from the washing machine and monsoon humidity sit on the cabinet below the sink for months at a time. That is why PVC construction matters more than any styling detail: it does not absorb water, so it cannot swell, warp or fade, and there is nothing in it to rust. Leave the doors open occasionally so the inside dries out.

Common questions

What size laundry sink do I need? Measure the wall run available and allow 630 mm of depth. If the sink is the only work surface in the utility area, go a size up so there is flat space beside the bowl.

Can a laundry sink be used on a balcony? The PVC cabinet is water-resistant and rust-proof, so a covered balcony or utility area suits it well. A sheltered position is better than direct, unprotected sun and rain.

Does it come with a tap? That is your choice. Each width is available as basin only, basin with faucet, or the complete set, so you can match whatever is already plumbed in.
