Collection: Faucets

Faucets cover every tap in the house, and this is the broadest range on Jabon Bagno. It spans basin mixers and pillar cocks, wall-mounted basin mixers, bib cocks, angular stop cocks, tall basin taps for countertop bowls, swan neck bar taps, wall-mounted kitchen sink cocks, pull-out kitchen mixers and concealed stop and flush valves. Most bodies are lead-free brass with chrome plating; the designer wall-mounted basin mixers also come in gold, rose gold, graphite and matt black. Prices run from around ₹400 for an angular tap to about ₹18,500 for a designer wall-mounted basin mixer, so the same range serves a contractor fitting out a rental and someone specifying one statement bathroom.

How to choose a faucet

Start with where it mounts and what it feeds. That decision is made at plumbing stage and is expensive to change later, while the finish is not.

  • Basin, deck-mounted - a single lever basin mixer or pillar cock sits on the basin itself. Check whether your basin has one tap hole or three before ordering.
  • Basin, wall-mounted - the body goes into the wall, so the inlet has to be concealed before tiling. Choose this during construction, not as a swap.
  • Tall basin taps - for table top and countertop basins, where a standard spout sits too low and splashes against the rim.
  • Bib cock - the plain wall tap over a bucket point, washing area or utility corner.
  • Angular stop cock - the angle valve that feeds a health faucet, flush tank or geyser, and lets you isolate one fitting without shutting the bathroom.
  • Kitchen sink cock and swan neck bar taps - wall-mounted with a swivel spout; pull-out kitchen mixers add a hose for rinsing.
  • Concealed valves - 15 mm and 20 mm stop valves and 25 mm flush valves, buried in the wall with only the plate showing.

Finishes and Indian water conditions

Chrome over lead-free brass is the default because it is the easiest finish to keep looking right where water is hard. Limescale shows as white spotting, and a tap that has slowly lost pressure usually needs its aerator unscrewed and soaked rather than replacing. Coloured finishes - matt black, gold, rose gold, graphite - hide water marks better than polished chrome but scratch more easily, so keep abrasive scrubbers away from them. If the bathroom runs off an overhead tank with no pressure pump, a shorter spout gives a stronger stream at the same head than a long swivel spout.

Common questions

What is the difference between a bib cock and a pillar cock? A bib cock mounts on the wall and points down - the tap over a bucket or washing area. A pillar cock mounts vertically through a basin tap hole and serves the basin.

Do I need an angular stop cock for a health faucet? Yes. The health faucet hose takes its supply from an angle valve teed off the flush line, so the angular stop cock is what lets you shut it off on its own.

Can I fit a wall mixer in an existing bathroom? Only if a concealed inlet is already in the wall. If your current tap sits on the basin, stay with a deck-mounted mixer unless you are re-tiling.
