A two-way wall mixer from the SCELA range, worked by a single lever. The body is cast from solid lead-free brass ingot and carries a three-layer chrome plating — copper, then 10 micron nickel, then 0.3 micron chromium — which is what produces the glossy, highly reflective surface and protects the brass underneath.

The lever operates on a quarter turn against a ceramic cartridge that the manufacturer tests to more than 500,000 operations; the thicker ceramic disc is what keeps movement smooth under high supply pressure. At the outlet, a food-grade plastic aerator adds air to the stream, which filters impurities, cuts the noise of running water and reduces consumption by around 20 per cent.
